The procurement of new vessels of contract value not exceeding HK $1.36 million is usually done by invitation of quotations. The Government New Construction Section, Marine Department (GNC) maintains a list of suppliers of vessels for the purpose of issuing quotation notification.

Application for inclusion in the Government New Construction Section Supplier List(s) for Quotation is free of charge. Interested firms are invited to apply by completing the Application Form and return to GNC with the required documents. Those firms that are found acceptable will be included in the aforementioned GNC Supplier Lists.

To continue staying in the GNC Supplier List(s), interested firms have to demonstrate their abilities to offer competitive quotations for their products and maintain satisfactory performance in connection with any order(s) or contract(s) which they have been awarded. The Government reserves the right to review a firm in the Lists as a GNC Supplier in the light of any new information that may affect such status and remove them from the Lists at any time without compensation.

Firms in the GNC Supplier Lists will receive notification on quotation invitation for the supply of vessels to the Government, as and when opportunities arise.
